The Rottlund Company, Inc. Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy is designed to tell you about the practices of The Rottlund Company, Inc. and its subsidiaries (collectively, "Rottlund") regarding collection, use, and disclosure of information that you may provide via this site and each of the websites operated by Rottlund, including but not limited to the sites located at www.rottlundhomes.com and www.davidbernardbuilders.com (collectively, the "Websites").
Please be sure to read this entire Privacy Policy before using or submitting information to any of the Websites. By using any of the Websites, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. Whenever you submit information via any of the Websites, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of that information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Rottlund understands the importance of protecting the privacy of our Website users. The information collected is used to market and improve the services we offer, to improve the content of the Websites, and to contact you with updates to the Websites or for other marketing purposes.
1. What information does Rottlund collect about you?
1.1. Browsing the Websites. If you browse or use any of the Websites anonymously, we do not capture or store any personally identifiable information you enter. We do collect your Internet Protocol Number (a number that identifies your computer but not you personally) and use it to track your use of the Websites. This, in combination with the use of cookies (see below), allows us to provide valuable services to you, such as allowing you to create your own list of homes and designs that are of interest to you.
1.2. E-mailing Rottlund. When you e-mail Rottlund from one of the Websites, you will be requested to provide your and your partner's names and your address, phone numbers, and e-mail address for future correspondence with you. We forward this information to the appropriate sales manager, who will attempt to contact you regarding your expressed interests.
1.3. Cookies. Each of the Websites uses cookies. Cookies are pieces of information that a website sends to a user's computer while the user is viewing the website. When a user returns to a website after having left it, cookies provide information to the site so that the site will remember who the user is. The main purpose of cookies is to identify users and possibly prepare customized webpages for them. We do not store email addresses in any cookie we create.
Cookies can be disabled through the user's web browser software. Cookie acceptance does not interfere with your ability to interact with most of the Websites, although allowing cookies does help streamline many of the interactive functions you perform on the sites.
We may use cookies for the following purposes: (1) to keep track of customer status and preferences, (2) to administer Website preferences and other information provided by users visiting a Website, and (3) to understand visitor usage, on an anonymous basis, at any one of the Website(s). Other than cookies used to transfer information from one Website application to another, cookies used in connection with a Website do not collect any information that would allow Rottlund to identify an individual. Cookies are placed every time a user visits a Website and are available for that session only. Cookies used to transfer information from one application to another are available only in the session of that transfer. Anonymous cookies are stored indefinitely on users' hard drives. Although refusal of cookies will not interfere with the ability to interact with the Website, users may need to accept cookies in order to use certain functionality provided on the Websites.
2. What does Rottlund do with that information?
2.1. Aggregate information. Rottlund uses information collected in the aggregate (i.e., information that does not personally identify individuals) to help us understand user needs and improve our services to you. We collect Internet Protocol addresses (addresses that identify individual computers accessing our Websites, but not the users of those computers) for system administration, security, and statistical analysis. We log these addresses and analyze them to understand where the requests originate so that we can provide efficient service, enhance security, ensure appropriate use, and produce traffic volume statistics.
2.2. Personally identifying information and email addresses. We do not collect personally identifying information without your knowledge. We collect personal information and your email address only when you provide them to us through the Website(s). We use information about you to provide specific services, such as identifying the appropriate sales representative to contact you regarding your interests.
We store the information you provide in a secure manner on our systems. While it is stored on our systems, we will carefully protect the confidentiality of the information.
3. What steps does Rottlund take to secure your personal information?
Each Website takes reasonable steps to protect personally identifiable information as you transmit it to the Website(s) and to protect such information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no Internet transmission is ever completely secure or error-free. In particular, e-mail sent to or from a Website may not be secure.
4. With whom does Rottlund share your information?
Personally identifying information provided via a Website is available only to The Rottlund Company, Inc. and to certain Rottlund subsidiaries and related companies, including but not limited to David Bernard Builders & Developers who agrees to treat it in accordance with this Privacy Policy and use it for the same purposes.
We also may disclose personally identifiable information you provide via a Website(s) to third parties that are not Rottlund Corporation affiliates, but only:
(i) in connection with the sale, assignment, or other transfer of the business of any or all of the Websites to which the information relates, in which case we will require any such buyer to agree to treat it in accordance with this Privacy Policy and use it for the same purposes;
(ii) to respond to law enforcement requests or, where required by applicable laws, court orders, or government regulations;
(iii) to protect and defend our rights and property, including misuse or unauthorized use of the Websites; or
(iv) to protect the personal safety or property of our users or the public (among other things, this means that if you provide false information or attempt to pose as someone else, information about you may be disclosed as part of any investigation into your actions).
5. How can you access, correct, and delete your information?
To keep personally identifiable information that you provide via a Website accurate, current, and complete, please contact us as specified below, and we will take appropriate steps to update or correct such information in our possession or to delete your information from our contact list.
6. What else should you know?
6.1. Links to other websites. Some of the Websites may contain links or references to other third party websites that Rottlund does not control and to which this Privacy Policy does not apply. We encourage you to read the Privacy Policy of every website you visit.
6.2. Modifications, additions, and deletions. Rottlund reserves the right to modify, add, or remove parts of this Privacy Policy at any time. If we decide to materially change this Privacy Policy, we will post those changes on this Website. Please check this Website periodically for changes. This Privacy Policy was last updated on July 1, 2007.
